ABOUT AF PROXY
.africa | .joburg | .durban | .capetown
AF Proxy Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Registry Africa has received its registrar credentials from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). This accreditation enables AF Proxy to provision domain names in the four geographic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) under its management.
This AF Proxy domain registration platform allows non-ICANN accredited registrars and resellers (RaRs) to integrate with the domain management system and provision domain names in the .africa, .joburg, .durban and .capetown gTLDs. This essentially means that all users of the AF Proxy service become resellers of AF Proxy Services Ltd.
The AF Proxy service will allow Internet consumers and entrepreneurs who are interested in establishing their domain name reseller businesses to have much more choice when it comes to choosing the domain management system that they would like to integrate with.
In addition, the African RaR community will be empowered to offer additional products and services at a lower cost. Many RaRs, located throughout the African continent, who are not ICANN accredited can now proudly play a part in Africa’s rebirth by provisioning the new .africa domain name. The AF Proxy service is aimed at creating an enabling platform for RaRs to stimulate growth in the African domain name ecosystem and, ultimately, the wider African economy.
